Once again this year we return from Italy’s most important competition with a record number of awards: 5 prizes and two honourable mentions.

This year’s Beer of the Year 2021 award was dedicated to the memory of Giovanni Fumagalli of Birrificio Via Priula and to Franco Sangiorgi, who served as president of the Unionbirrai association.

207 the total number of participating breweries with 1599 beers entered in total.

The jury consisted of 60 judges, both Italian and international, who judged all the beers blind, without knowing the name of the beer or the producer.
